As the festive mood of Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 pervaded the country, Bollywood star Salman Khan ushered in the festival with his entire family in what was a beautiful, traditional ceremony replete with love, devotion, and intimacy.
This year, as in many others, the Khan family welcomed Lord Ganesha into their home, making the occasion one to be remembered for both the family and the fans. The celebrations were held at the house of Salman’s sister, Arpita Khan, a house that has become the spiritual and emotional hub for their annual Ganpati celebrations.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Salman Khan, fans got a glimpse into the family’s celebration. The video began with a sacred glance at the well-decorated Ganpati idol, which was decorated with newly plucked fresh marigolds and celebratory and traditional flowers that emitted festive light and piety.
Salman’s mother, Salma Khan, then began the puja with calm reverence by performing the aarti. She was later joined by her husband, celebrated lyricist Salim Khan, who also participated in the rituals and added a sense of tradition and roots to the moment.
With the background score of the soulful Ganpati bhajan playing in the background, Salman moved up to conduct the aarti himself. Tucked in a plain black tee shirt and beige trousers, he appeared serene, earthy, and attuned to the spiritual power of the moment. It is rare that one gets to see the superstar out of the limelight and off the film sets, joining in a puja like any other devoted son and brother. It was a sweet and uplifting sight.
A Family That Prays Together…
Other members of the Khan clan continued the aarti, equally deep in devotion and celebration. His brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan were also spotted carrying out the aarti with their wives and children. His sisters Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan Sharma also participated, each with their respective families, such as Atul Agnihotri, Ayaan Agnihotri, Alizeh Agnihotri, Aayush Sharma, and their children Ahil and Ayat Sharma.
They all participated in turns in the aarti, giving the ceremony a sense of family bonding and piety. The children dressed traditionally added their share of innocence and poise to the rituals. It was a great mix of modernity, joy, and family bonding of the times.
Also present to add to the celebratory mood were actor duo Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, who came with their children. Their presence added a warm touch of friendship and community to the already lively event.
The video ended with a close-up shot of the Ganpati idol, a beautiful, flower-decked image that conveyed the peace and majesty of the day.
No Caption Needed
Surprisingly, Salman did not attach any caption to the video post, allowing the images to do the talking. It’s a testament to the reality that at times some things don’t require words just to be experienced. The love, the tradition, the family unity, and the devotion came through powerfully in just those few seconds.
What’s Next for Salman Khan?
Even as he takes time out for family and festivities, Salman Khan’s professional calendar remains packed. He was last seen in AR Murugadoss’ action drama “Sikandar,” co-starring Rashmika Mandanna. The movie did well, with Salman going back to his action-hero avatar.
Now, he’s getting ready for a fiery role in “Battle of Galwan,” directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley face-off between Indian and Chinese soldiers and features Salman in an Indian Army soldier’s role, a role that is guaranteed to be a patriotic hit with viewers.
Bigg Boss 19: Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar
Apart from movies, Salman is again hosting Bigg Boss 19, which he has been attached to for years. The season this time comes with a twist: the theme is “Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar,” where power games, politics, and friendships are at the forefront within the Bigg Boss house.
Talking regarding the new subject, Salman stated,
“I have been with Bigg Boss for a very, very long time now, and as we all know, Bigg Boss renews the game every year.” Aur iss baar, it is gharwalo ki sarkar. And when too many people start pulling the strings, it’s bound to get messy. That’s when the cracks show, and the house turns into a warzone.”
Bigg Boss 19 is currently streaming on JioHotstar at 9 PM and airing on COLORS TV at 10:30 PM, with fans tuning in to watch Salman bring his unique hosting style to the chaos-filled house.
