Famous for films like Thank You and No Entry, actress Celina Jaitley, who has been away from the limelight for a long time, is back in the news following the 2024 case concerning her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Jaitley’s alleged illegal detainment in the UAE.
Things have taken a more serious turn for the actress, as this time the matter is far more personal and heartbreaking for her fans. Celina has reportedly accused her husband, Peter Haag, an Austria-based businessman, of domestic violence.
On Tuesday, a case was registered against Peter under the Domestic Violence Act at Mumbai’s Andheri court for alleged cruelty and manipulation.
It has also been reported that Celina is seeking ₹50 crore as compensation for damages and other losses incurred, as claimed by a source to ANI News Agency.
Talking about her husband, Peter Haag, an Austrian entrepreneur and hotelier, he works across Southeast Asia and, as per reports, has held senior positions with luxury hotels in the UAE.
The couple first met in Dubai during an event, where they were introduced through a family friend. Celina felt an instant connection with him. She mentioned that the moment she saw him arrive, she somehow knew Peter was “the one,” even though they hadn’t spoken yet. After briefly observing each other, they finally talked, and in 2010, Peter travelled to India to meet Celina’s family. It was during this visit that he proposed to her.
Celina married Peter in 2011. In 2012, they welcomed twin boys, and in 2017, she gave birth to another set of twins, one of whom unfortunately passed away due to a heart condition. The couple currently has three sons. Celina has often been seen expressing her love for Peter on social media.
Celina was a former Miss India and Miss Universe runner-up and has appeared in several big-budget Bollywood films. She was last seen in Will You Marry Me. Her comeback project is reportedly in the pipeline, though no official details have been shared yet.
