According to industry sources, Netflix has acquired the streaming rights of Dhurandhar for an approximate amount of 130 crores. It is a substantial number considering the prices of OTT acquisitions have gone down recently. The report also says that the deal covers both films of the two-part series, with each film being worth around 65 crores. Bollywood Hungama quoted a source saying that the deal is one of Ranveer Singh’s biggest OTT collaborations, and it shows the strong market interest in the franchise.
The high-budget thriller features Aditya Dhar as the director and has received the nod of approval for the acting, grandiosity, and atmospheric detailing from the audience and critics alike. Dhurandhar is the story of an undercover Indian agent who, in the middle of a very tense Karachi’s Lyari district, digs deep into the complex and evil networks of crime syndicates and terror outfits. The movie draws its plot from actual covert operations, and it gives a very raw and absorbing flavour to the film.
Following the lead of Ranveer Singh, the ensemble cast includes Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. The support cast features Manav Gohil, Danish Pandor, Saumya Tandon, Gaurav Gera, and Naveen Kaushik.
Dhurandhar, a film produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, is the first instalment of the two-part saga. The sequel, Dhurandhar Part 2, is scheduled to hit the cinemas on 19 March 2026.
