Ayesha Khan, who was recently seen in the song Shararat from Dhurandhar, opened up about the unsolicited comments she has received concerning her appearance in the film industry. The actor, in her recent interview, stated that no one from the directing side has ever scolded her for her looks, but casting people have often taken it for granted to tell her what to fix.
Ayesha Khan On Getting Unsolicited Advice Over Her Looks
While talking to Galatta India recently, Ayesha revealed that coordinators and people who are not part of the creative decision-making suggested that she change her nose if she wanted to get more roles. She said that she could hardly understand that statement because she likes her natural side in the mirror and asks why anyone would feel like commenting on her. She further pointed out that such statements usually come from those who have little knowledge of the art and the confidence needed to be in front of the camera.
Moreover, Ayesha also shared a moment from a horror genre casting session with a renowned director. When, after an audition, the director appreciated her performance, she was informed that for non-horror roles, her teeth needed to be changed. Ayesha said that the statement immediately took the wind out of her excitement, especially since she had entered the room full of hope and smiling. She noted how easily such things are said when the person doesn’t realise how it can affect the actor’s confidence.
