After a run in theaters, Maddock Films’ horror-comedy Thamma has been officially released to streaming, where the audience can easily access it. The movie with the lead cast featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently available on Amazon Prime Video, doing its global digital premiere there.
Thamma Releases On OTT
The streaming service announced that Thamma has been available for streaming globally since December 16, thus allowing film lovers who couldn’t get the film to watch it online. This release introduces the film as the next installment of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) – the expanding cinematic universe which already boasts hits like Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.

Thamma is a horror comedy movie that features a supernatural world where it brings the fantasy creatures of the dark side with the laughter and tears of humankind. The plot follows the character of Alok (Ayushmann Khurrana), who is the savior of mankind, and Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna), a secretive and extraordinary creature who manages a world that is in peril of the dark. Yakshasan, the boss of this gloomy world, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, whose extent of power puts the fate of the earth in the most probable one of disaster.
Aditya Sarpotdar is the director of the movie that was produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, and the screenplay writing is a team work of Niren Bhatt, Arun Fulara, and Suresh Mathew. In addition to the main cast, the movie is also starring Paresh Rawal and Faisal Malik, with cameo appearances by Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Banerjee, Nora Fatehi, and Malaika Arora, thus paving the way for the great ensemble appeal.
When talking about the digital release, Ayushmann Khurrana said that the thing that excited him the most about the project was the fact that it was a crazy mix of horror, comedy, romance, and emotion. He was pleased that the film, after its success in theaters, would now be able to reach a much larger global audience through streaming. Rashmika Mandanna also shared similar views, referring to the project as a new and thrilling experience for her. She pointed out that the big-screen factor and the movie being of the horror genre had made her actually enjoy it, and she said that she was glad it would now be able to reach the viewers outside the cinemas.
Thamma had a theatrical release during Diwali on October 21, 2025, and was shown in various formats such as 4DX and IMAX.
