Kiara Advani has joined the growing discussion about work-life balance in the film industry, bringing a viewpoint influenced by a significant personal milestone. Right after giving birth to her daughter, Saraaya, earlier this year, the actor returned to work and has talked about the need for less grueling working hours in general, which Deepika Padukone also alluded to in her recent statement. Here’s what Kiara Advani had to say about it,

Kiara Advani On 8-Hour Shift Demand

Kiara Advani, in a recent interview with Vogue India, revealed that she finds the argument very close to her own experience. She was recently interacting with people, and among other things, she referred to the concept of an eight-hour workday, pointing out that being worn out is of no good to anyone, regardless of the type of work. In her opinion, the only result of frequently demanding people is their total physical and emotional exhaustion, which in the end influences their creativity and productivity.

She says that motherhood has changed her perspective on work completely. After entering the stage of parenthood, Kiara has questioned how much of her time and energy she dedicates to her career and how it fits in with her personal life. The change has led her to decide upon the three main principles that now determine her professional choices: keeping one’s dignity in the workplace, balancing personal and professional commitments, and respect towards others both on the set and off it. For Kiara, these are not just nice things to have but the minimum requirements for a healthy environment at work.

The talk about reasonable working hours became louder after reports that Deepika Padukone had to drop two of her high-profile projects due to differences over her schedule and workload. There is no official confirmation from either of the projects, but this has led to a huge debate about how extremely demanding the film sets are.

Kiara has also shared her creative method and how it has changed. Instead of pursuing genres or commercial formulas, she now seeks emotionally resonant stories. She revealed that her upcoming project is most probably going to be a biopic as she is inclined towards real and heartfelt stories. She admits that marriage and motherhood have given her a new direction and made her decision, making her more transparent.

The actor has also put mental health above everything else besides the scripts and the schedules. She is convinced that a work environment that is supportive, taking into consideration that people have their own personal limits, will give people the opportunity to achieve more without compromising their welfare.

On the work front, Kiara Advani is soon going to be seen in Yash’s Toxic, set to release on March 19, 2026.
