Has it ever happened to you that you admire a beautiful monument and pause to wonder who built it? Who were these people who gave their blood, sweat, and time to create something so grand? But often so the creators fade into the background, while the creation takes all the applause.
But on the night of 24th December, Navi Mumbai witnessed a historic moment, where dignity and respect took centre stage. Before the first flight ever landed at Navi Mumbai International Airport, NMIA chose to honour its construction workers and the Mitti Café team, organising an exclusive drone show for them and their families.
The drone show wasn’t about a launch or a grand celebration. It was simply a way of saying thank you and honouring the ones who physically built it. This happened before VIP’s arrived, before passengers walked in, and before the airport opened to the world.
As the drones lit up the sky, the moment felt proud, joyful and deeply meaningful. Though the show was planned for a few, the city couldn’t help but look up and share the experience.
What made it more special was the way NMIA chose to celebrate. It chose dignity over display. With no press, no influencers and no celebrities, the moment belonged entirely to the construction workers and Mitti Café team, giving them the respect they truly deserved.
They didn’t take the first flight, but they were given something rarer, RESPECT.
And the drone show deserves its own mention, flawlessly executed and visually stunning. Every formation appeared carefully planned, turning the sky into a canvas of light.
From the Indian map to the lotus design interiors, or a flight moving above the Mumbai skyline, the drone show took everyone through NMIA’s journey so far. What made it stand out wasn’t just how good it looked, but what it stood for.
As the lights slowly disappeared from the sky, what stayed behind was a feeling of pride. The drone show marked a beginning rooted in respect, reminding us that every landmark stands on the effort of many unseen hands.
