Hollywood star Will Smith could be in a serious legal mess. A former tour violinist has filed a lawsuit accusing the actor, rapper, of s*xual harassment and wrongful termination during the Based on a True Story 2025 tour. The civil suit, which was filed on December 31, 2025 in a Los Angeles court, has been a huge shock to the entertainment industry, particularly because of the seriousness of the allegations.

Brian King Joseph, the plaintiff, alleges that he was fired from the tour after he reported an incident that he was so shocked by that he could not have imagined while staying at a hotel that was arranged by Smith’s company, Treyball Studios Management. The lawsuit states that the incident occurred in March 2025 during a tour stop in Las Vegas.

Will Smith Faces Legal Suit Over S*xual Harassment

Brian King Joseph claims that after coming back to his hotel room, he discovered evidence of an unauthorized entry. The room, according to him, had his personal belongings and some s*xually explicit materials, among which was a handwritten note addressed to him. He explains that the incident made him feel terrified and very uncomfortable.

The violinist says that he first told the hotel security and the tour management about the incident and later called a police non-emergency line to file a report. However, Joseph states that tour officials, instead of giving him support, scolded him for making up the story and even blamed him for the situation. He adds that shortly after he reported the incident, he was informed that his services were no longer needed, and management allegedly said that the tour was going in another direction.

Joseph argues that the reason given for his firing was a lie as he points out that another violinist was very quickly hired to take his place. In his complaint, he states that his dismissal was a result of his filing a complaint and not because of his performance or professional conduct.

The lawsuit also details Joseph’s collaboration with Smith, noting that he was first brought on in November 2024 for a show in San Diego, then later invited to be a part of the 2025 tour and to contribute to Smith’s next album. He is filing a claim for s*xual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination, and monetary compensation will be determined by a jury.

Currently, neither Will Smith nor his representatives have made an official statement regarding the lawsuit.
