Ankit Siwach never rushed things, and probably this patience is gradually becoming his strength. From working behind the camera as an Assistant Director to now sharing the screen with Farhan Akhtar in ‘120 Bahadur’, Ankit’s journey is a classic example of growth built on skill. Read below the full interview.

Speaking about 120 Bahadur, Ankit shared that the film changed something profound within him, ‘120 Bahadur changed something inside me. Playing a soldier is not just about wearing the uniform; it’s about understanding discipline, sacrifice, brotherhood, and silence. There were moments during the shoot when the emotions were so raw that you didn’t need to act; you just had to be present. It made me more grateful, more grounded, and deeply respectful of the lives these real heroes lived. That role stays with me even now.’

Ankit’s journey in the industry hasn’t been straightforward. Starting as an AD helped him understand how a set functions, from the smallest details to the collective effort behind every frame. ‘It has taught me patience above everything else. Starting as an AD gave me a strong foundation; I understand how a set functions and how much effort goes into every frame. Nothing was handed to me easily, and I think that struggle has shaped my work ethic. Each phase taught me something new, and I carry all of it with me every time I step on set.’

His performance in For Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs proved to be a major turning point. The actor shared that Kull was special because the character was layered and morally complex. ‘I spent a lot of time understanding his silences, his conflicts, and his inner motivations. I don’t like judging my characters; I try to justify them from within. Once that happens, the performance flows organically.’

Having worked in television, OTT platforms, and films, Ankit says, ‘Each platform has challenged me differently. Television gave me discipline and consistency, OTT gave me depth and space to explore darker, nuanced characters, and films have taught me restraint. Right now, OTT feels like a playground creatively, but honestly, it’s the role that excites me, not the platform.

Speaking about his personal life, Ankit shared, ‘Marriage has brought a lot of stability into my life. Having someone who understands the unpredictable nature of this profession makes a huge difference. Balance is still a work in progress, but I’ve learned to be present wherever I am, on set or at home.’

Talking about staying relevant in today’s industry, Ankit firmly believes that by staying honest to your craft, one stays relevant. Trends come and go, but sincerity never fails. Constant learning, choosing roles wisely, and keeping your ego aside, those things matter more than visibility alone.’

As for what’s next, Ankit hinted at an upcoming OTT project currently in the works, in which he will be seen in a completely new avatar. He considers this phase of his career a period of transformation, and he is embracing it fully.

From being an assistant in Silvat to playing the lead in Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, representing India at NYIFF with Madam Driver, gaining recognition with Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala, and now appearing in 120 Brave under Excel Entertainment, Ankit Siwach’s journey is a reminder that slow, steady, and honest work often wins the longest race.
