Bollywood is abuzz with the news of an alleged second postponement of Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Love and War, a twist that the Ramayana team might not have been too pleased with. Ranbir Kapoor, who happens to be the main lead of both films, is at the centre of a scheduling shuffle that could potentially delay the release of two of the biggest Hindi cinema projects to hit the silver screen next.
According to reports, Love and War was initially lined up for a release in the first quarter of 2026 and was later eyed for the Eid window. However, it has been reported that the film’s shooting schedule has once again been extended and is now expected to continue until May 2026. Due to production running longer than anticipated, a release in the summer has reportedly been ruled out. Therefore, the team is now looking at a release in August or September 2026, and it is anticipated that a final date will be confirmed very soon.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Love And War Might Delay Ramayana
The additional shooting days required Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal to extend the duration for which they had to keep their calendars free, thus pushing back other professional commitments. The Ramayana team is said to have been left disappointed with the situation, as they were counting on a considerable interval between Ranbir’s two releases.
Since Ramayana is going to be the Diwali festive release, the inadequate breathing room between the films has reportedly made a few production members uneasy. Moreover, the insiders inform that there were discussions about shifting the release date of Love and War to June, but it hardly seems possible now, given the timeline. The extended shoot has, in fact, been cited as the reason for the film’s total budget increase. The delay notwithstanding, the fervor for the film is still maintained, and there is talk of the first look being unveiled in January 2026, although at present, no official announcement has been made.
