Remember that hilarious internet moment when actor Vijay Varma accidentally stepped on actress Pooja Gor’s pallu? The internet, of course, did what it does best: it exploded with memes and savage headlines.

In a recent chat with the MissMalini team, the actor got candid and left everyone in splits. When host Sohum Shah cheekily asked if he ever Googles himself, Vijay didn’t miss a beat.

He quoted that very pallu incident, stating one of the funniest Hindi headlines that said, “Vijay Varma ke pairon tale rondha gaya mahila ka pallu… maangni padi maafi”(Translation: A woman’s pallu was crushed under Vijay Varma’s feet… he had to apologize), sending Sohum and the crew into a fit of laughter.

He continued the answer and added, “I do that, especially around the release time when I am all nerves.”

But the real punchline came when Sohum asked if he remembered the first time he ever Googled himself. Vijay, in his classic style, replied, “Bhai, maine bahut saal tak Google kiya tha, kuch aaya hi nahi!” (Translation: Bro, I used to Google myself for years; nothing ever came up!)

In the same interview, he also opened up about his roots, his childhood in a Marwari household in Hyderabad, the vibrant people of the city, and the cultural shift he experienced when he moved to Mumbai. He spoke candidly about his failures, how he coped with them, his past relationships, and yes, his much-talked-about moment with Kareena Kapoor Khan in Jaane Jaan, which the internet still can’t get enough of.

The Slow-Burn Star

Vijay Varma’s sense of humor isn’t the only thing winning hearts; his career graph is too. While many recognize him from recent hits, his acting chops were first noticed in his 2012 debut film, Chittagong, where he starred alongside Manoj Bajpayee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Though the film didn’t create mass buzz, it planted the seeds of what would grow into a solid career.

His breakthrough came with Gully Boy (2019), where he played the gritty and layered character Moeen. Since then, there’s been no looking back. From the intense She and Darlings to Mirzapur 2 and Lust Stories 2, Vijay has shown he can morph into anything, from the guy next door to the guy you better stay away from.

Vijay Varma has several exciting projects lined up, including the films Ul Jalool Ishq and Matka King, as well as the much-anticipated Mirzapur Season 3. He will also be seen in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack.
