The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Met Gala is already preparing for its 2026 edition, and the co-chair list that officials have revealed is simply stunning. Next May, alongside longtime host Anna Wintour, Beyoncé, Venus Williams, and Nicole Kidman will be at the forefront of the fashion industry’s most-watched night. For the unversed, it will be the first time that Venus Williams will be a co-chair at the gala, and this will be after her sister Serena, who was the co-chair seven years ago.

Beyoncé, Venus Williams, and Nicole Kidman Co-Chair Met Gala 2026

Beyoncé, who has been to the event seven times, was the honorary chair in 2013. Nicole Kidman has been a co-chair before, in 2003 and 2005, while Anna Wintour, as always, will be in charge of the event.  The museum announced a host committee besides the co-chairs. Designer Anthony Vaccarello and filmmaker Zoë Kravitz lead the committee.

The list includes creatives from various fields like music, with Doja Cat, Sabrina Carpenter, LISA, Sam Smith, and Yseult; dance, with Misty Copeland; acting, with Gwendoline Christie, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, and Teyana Taylor; sports, with A’ja Wilson; and modeling, with Paloma Elsesser, Alex Consani, and Lauren Wasser.

Beyoncé at the 2015 Met was one of many highlights of her fashion moments, when she wore a beaded, sheer Givenchy. And it was in the following year’s Met that she set the trend for the glossy-latex look with her high-shine gown. The Met 2026 theme is all about Costume Art.

The show will be about the human body in art, through the lens of fashion and art history, combining pieces from different wings of the museum. Last week, museum director Max Hollein said that the exhibition was going to be very diverse and show how everything is connected by tracing the origins of vogue to different art forms. Under the guidance of curator Andrew Bolton, the body will be looked at in many ways, from the physically perfect of the past to present themes like maternity and aging.

Costume Art will also feature the new 12,000 square-foot gallery, located near the Great Hall, thus the Costume Institute will become more prominent. The exhibition will be open from May 10, 2026, until January 10, ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌2027.
