Meet Rahul Bose’s Japanese Wife.

MissMalini and Rahul Bose

MissMalini and Rahul Bose

I got the chance to interview Rahul Bose today about his upcoming release “The Japanese Wife” (which by the way, sounds like my kinda movie). The bitter-sweet soufflé of love and heartache that always chokes me up. (I think it’ll be something like the tragic tale of those two lovers Griffin & Sabine: An Extraordinary Correspondence I once told you about remember?) “The Japanese Wife” hits theaters on April 9th 2010. Can’t wait!
Oooh and I also managed to throw him your Twitter questions yay :)
P.S. Babita Deol I told him how much you love him, he was surprised and flattered! Read more…

Amelie and other stories…

(Randomly found this mailer in my in box so decided to share!)

Amelie

Amelie

Best. Movie. Ever. If you like romantic movies (and you believe in leprechauns) this is a must watch for you :) I think its kinda cool that George Clooney’s flick “Up in the Air” takes a leaf out of Amelie’s book and has him photographing a cut out of his sister and her husband all over the world as well #WIN! But seriously WATCH this movie its really quite adorable, I think I mentioned this before when I was telling you about a herbal facewash commercial which reminded me of it too! I haven’t seen “Priceless” but now I’m intrigued!
P.S. Tonight I’m watching Gossip Girl and then heading to Not Just Jazz by the Bay for Karaoke Night! Fun fun!

Recommended: Riding an elevator with Ashish Raheja

Ashish Raheja

Ashish Raheja

OMG I cannot believe I forgot to tell you this. So after “Royalty” when things were dying down we decided to head to Hype (where these days I always have a good time and DJ Aqeel & Assad always has a shot and a smile for me :) So its now fairly late and we’re leaving the club and happen to share an elevator ride down four floors with Ashish Raheja. This is the exchange he has with the bouncer (presumably his personal body guard) on our way down…

Ashish: “Good job tonight, but next time you can do better.”
Bouncer: nods
Ashish: See these people? My friend. My Girlfriend.” points right, to his friend “Anyone touches him, its fine he can take care of himself” points left, to his girlfriend “anyone touches her, you rip his balls off, got it?”
Bouncer: stares at Ashish expressionless
MissMalini: Must remember this conversation, must remember this conversation.

Got it Ashish. Amazing as always. But I’m plagued by the very same question that came to my mind when I ran into Mallaika Arora Khan her husband Arbaaz Khan and her bodyguard Nilesh Pawar at Shiro. I mean wouldn’t it be SO much cooler if you were ripping the said balls off yourself? Girls dig that shit I swear… I mean just ask Salman Khan.
Ok, NOW we’re even :)

A nightclub for Royalty, by Royalty, called Royalty!

Last night Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty hosted the opening party for their nightclub ‘Royalty” in Bandra, Mumbai. I’ve gotta say the place is quite impressive looking (in a very “Great Expectations” kinda way) although pretty much brings back memories of the previous club there called “Poison” in terms of the general layout. So they’ve changed the color of the lights on the stairs, made the railing intricate (but NOT really functional, now walking down those stairs in heels can be considered an extreme sport) added a giant chandelier & antique lamps to the main floor and thrown a massive gold lion head against one wall!
I’m just not crazy about the name “Royalty” it doesn’t quite roll off the tongue as well as some of the other club names but I guess they were going for the full set; you know how it is, cricket league called Rajasthan Royals, night club called Royalty! Anyway, here are my observations for the night!
Psst! I got lots of video footage and a few foggy pictures (damned smoke machine) I’ll post the PR set as soon as they come in but for now here it is through MissMalini’s lens. Read more…

The Twilight Players

The Twilight Players

So I’ve come to realize that very often the recipe for a great night out involves the following:

1. A good vibe
2. LIVE entertainment (whenever possible)
3. Eye candy
4. Something to laugh about
…and finally (also potentially the most crucial ingredient)
5. An unexpected extension to the party
Thursday night had all of these! Read more…

And then there was the Lakme Fashion Week Finale. SOOOOOoooooo much fun (and even worth the nearly two-hour wait)! It was basically one giant disco party with a cracked glass runway and bling to the max. The best bit of course was a killer combo of the Midival Punditz and Shai’r & Func spinning up a psychedelic storm LIVE for the models and Lakme faces of 2010 Lisa Haydon, Amrit Maghera and Indrani Dasgupta to bop to. Suneet Verma you’re a star! Check out the video to see what I mean. Also solid props to Sabina Chopra for topping up her style quotient with a do-up right off the runway! Fashion Week is so much fun :)

Lisa Hayden and Angelina Jolie

Lisa Hayden and Angelina Jolie

By the by, in case you never noticed (like me) Lisa Hayden looks one helluva lot like Angelina Jolie! (I was wondering she looked so familiar and mistook her for Sarah-Jane Dias once, doh!) It just never struck me till one of the journo’s said so during the show but check it out, they could be twins! Also isn’t it charming that she makes balloon animals for charity when she gets time?

Psst! I saw Lisa Hayden do Vodka-oyster shots in the Grey Goose lounge, aren’t those things really gross? Read more…
