Aamir Khan is back in Business!

3 Idiots

3 Idiots

It’s Khan Candy time! As we all know Aamir Khan generally emerges from his secret hiding place about a month before his next big release and goes nuts doing high-end advertising (in the very best taste of course) so these days you can catch him Facebooking up a storm for his fans, promoting the new TATA Sky Active (Tivo-esque services, here’s how they made it btw) and come December we get to see him in what is touted to be the movie of the year “3 Idiots” I simply cannot wait! Enjoy :)
Psst! His adorable nephew Imran Khan meanwhile, is up at Surve Farms in picturesque New Panvel, “known for its rugged beauty and poor cellular reception” (from what he tells me!) Read more…

The Kaminey jodi Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra bagged their own Teacher’s Achievement Awards earlier this week. Priyanka dedicated hers to her parents, saying, “I am thankful to the jury. Whenever I get a prize, I think this would not have been possible without the constant support of my parents.” Shahid who won Teacher’s People Magazine Achiever award, said, “I feel special. It’s really a big achievement when such an eminent set of jury has decided to give me the award.” Oscar winning lyricist Gulzar was honored with lifetime achievement award at the Teacher’s award. But I know what you’re really interested in is did they bag the “most discreet break up award” as well? Read more…

Malaika Arora, Neha Dhupia and Mugdha Godse are all W.A.L.S.!

Malaika Arora Khan, Neha Dhupia and Mugdha Godse

Malaika Arora Khan, Neha Dhupia and Mugdha Godse

Psst! Guess what? Gillette India’s next brainwave is gonna be? A movement called Women Against Lazy Stubble (W.A.L.S). No really, I’m not making this up! Their premise is that, “for centuries women have spent hours grooming themselves to please men but that is changing. Women are now taking a strong stand against lazy men and their lazy stubble. W.A.L.S is a movement that brings together all like-minded women who believe that it is about time men made a little effort to groom themselves and sport a cleaner and more confident look. Why should only the women make that effort? The founders of this movement are a group of young women who believe that equality should exist in all walks of life – including self hygiene and grooming.” You’ll never believe who they’ve roped in for the cause too; Malaika Arora Khan, Neha Dhupia and Mugdha Godse. Apparently they’ll even share instances in their life where stubble proved to be trouble (with friends, husband, father, brother boyfriend, etc.) Now this I’ve got to see! (There’s a press conference on November 12th, I wonder if they’ll do it with a straight face?) But in case you’re suddenly wondering (like I was) how stubble-free the men in their lives really are, here take a look! Read more…

Narendra Kumar Ahmed; at a bargain price!

Invitation---Creo

by invitation only :)

Wazzat you might ask. Well apparently ‘Next-Gen Fashion’. As per the press note “Creo is the new look of contemporary fashion, perfect for the chic, urban woman of today. The new store carries stylish basics, modern classics, and fashion forward designs, complemented by accessories, bags and shoes that offer great style and value for money. The city’s 1st Creo store at Kemp’s Corner truly offers a boutique experience but with high-street pricing. The store itself is something of a design gem with a post-modern ‘New York Chic’ look.” My my.

But the reason why I would go check it out anyway is because Narendra Kumar Ahmed is the chief designer at Creo and is designing an exclusive line for the store under the label – Narendra Kumar for Creo. Now that’s not easy to come by.

More from the store launch on Wednesday, someone chalk that up on my to do list this week. (I should really get an assistant!)

Priety Zinta may know Harvard but….

Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta

…does Harvard know Preity Zinta? Um… not so much! I just stumbled upon this email exchanged between two Harvard boys:

Date: November 7, 2009 5:55:18 AM GMT+05:30
Subject: who is this – one of my friends from india sent it out
http://www.indianexpress.com/news/preity-zinta-is-leaving-bollywood-for-harvard/537120/

Now all things considered it’s unlikely it will take the dimpled-wonder long before she breaks a few Harvard hearts, but she’s definitely starting with a glitter-free slate! Uh oh, do I see the Bolly-version of Notting Hill in our near future? Actually, I’m down with that. (Just as long as Himmesh Reshammiya - or his nose – have absolutely nothing to do with it!) Here, I’ll even start you off with a crucial quote; *Aakhir…. main sirf ek ladki, ek ladke ke samne khade, uska pyaar maang rahin hoon. Er.. I’m a little lost in translation, any takers for the screenplay?

*”After all… I’m just a girl, standing infront of a boy, asking him to love her.”

Model Shamita Singha co-hosted the event.
