Real Girls, Real Fashion.

Neysa Mendes

Neysa Mendes

Vogue_Blogger_Badges_1-1As “regular” girls I feel we’ve often watched the hottest runway trends announced with some amount of trepidation, maybe because we’re not entirely convinced that this season’s “must have” is something we’d ever want or because we’ve already played fashion favorites and ours is busy gleaming at us from the top of our own wardrobe. So I figured I’d ask some real girls to share their most prized possessions (you know, that dress, top, bag, accessory etc you’d wear everyday if we could just because it makes you feel that good?)

Neysa Mendes

Neysa Mendes

Neysa Mendes: “This is my absolute favorite bag! It’s a large, very colorful envelope clutch I bought in New York two years ago. It goes with pretty much everything; it would dress up a pair of jeans, add a big splash of color to little black dress and works so well since it’s a patchwork of pretty much every color under the sun. I work with the music industry so a lot of my partying is also actually work (don’t roll your eyes at me!) so I love that I can fit in my camera, a notebook, bulky wallet, phone and all the many lists that I usually make! The nude peep-toe booties are new and the military style jacket is another really versatile piece.
P.S. I adore Vogue and have read every single issue since they launched so this was so exciting!”

Trishna Mathews

Trishna Mathews

Trishna Mathews: “The reason I like this dress is because I am currently in my girlie phase… I am an extremely moody dresser so its either ill fitted t-shirts, black shorts and flip flops or this… I got this dress from a street vendor in Portobello road which is a quaint yet absolutely picturesque street in Notting Hill, London… I spent 10 pounds on this dress which is around 750rs… being a director I have to choose comfort over style in my everyday work life, one cant exactly prance around set in kitten heels and short dresses, so the few times when I get to trade in my plastic flip flops for heels and my brother t-shirts for a cute floral dress I take it!”

Sheetal Sudhir

Sheetal Sudhir

Sheetal Sudhir: “My favorite things I like to wear are my J brand Houlihans and my best friend.”

Nicole Oversier

Nicole Oversier

Nicole Oversier: “I love this dress.  It’s simple and inexpensive,  picked out of a bundle in one of Hong Kong’s great outdoor shopping  markets.  I tend to choose base pieces that are suited both to my body type and (with the help of some key accessories) my ever changing mood.  This dress is so versatile.  The flower pattern in white has a great Asian flair and it can be dressed up with a pair of cute heels, a contrasting belt or a pair of boots.”

Rebecca Maria Vaz

Rebecca Maria Vaz

Rebecca Maria Vaz: “This is a hand-me-down from my sister who thought it was to be worn with the cowl in the front! I found the perfect bra for it from M&S and it works every time! I absolutely love it.”

Darshana Kamani

Darshana Kamani

Darshana Kamani: “My little black bag. Why? – Looks great, not too big to overpower yet can fit the kitchen sink… can’t live without it!”

Tina G. Bedi

Tina G. Bedi

Tina G. Bedi: “Here is one of my favorite dresses by (who else) ESTINNA”

Seema Mody

Seema Mody

Seema Mody: “This Diesel handbag is the best accessory because it holds your favorite lip gloss and also adds flavor to your overall outfit!

Jessica M.

Jessica M.

Jessica M.: “My favorite fashion accessory are my Onitsuka Tiger trainers. Inspired by Uma Thurman’s yellow ones in Kill Bill, I’m working towards a collection of their styles & colors – ‘coz they’re just so comfortable AND good looking!”

Ratna Dhanda

Ratna Dhanda

Ratna Dhanda: “This is an empire waist belt balloon dress from Mango that I picked up years ago. I love it for the crisp and bright Chocolate brown and green color! I am standing at times square in this picture and even then the dress colors are brighter than flood lit Times Square!

Aditi Venkatrama

Aditi Venkatrama

Aditi Venkatraman: “My favorite accessories that I use (almost) daily are, Gucci glasses (surprisingly very reasonably priced) and my Prada handbag. I work in Banking and Capital markets at Deloitte LLP in London. Getting up every morning to go to work as an accountant does not sound very glamorous but theres no reason why it shouldn’t be!
P.S. Check out my wardrobe, it’s no Carrie Bradshaw walk in wardrobe with spotlights but its still pretty awesome!”

And there you have it! My girls had a blast posing for these pictures by the way :) I suggest you try it too and post your pictures here for posterity… I might even send you a special something to add to your accessory drawer :)
