Chrysalis is the Fashion show for SNDT and PVP; two fashion colleges in Mumbai that have been around for years, last night marked their 30th annual show. The show had 12 collections by students who were on their last leg of college life. To guide them were a bevy of mentors but the head honcho was Hemant Trevedi who was given the biggest cheer of the night by the graduatiing batch and audience. The collections were a burst of creativity and untouched my commercial restraints. The best one being Katputli in Cannes a great fusion of indian prints with a resort perspective. Achla Sachdev was running around getting all her leggy models ready for the show, we were lucky enough to grab her before the show for a quick byte. Parvathy Omanakuttan, former Miss India World walked the ramp for some of the collections and she gave us a very word perfect byte backstage. So check out the video for all the action
In the audience were some of fashion most prominant faces like Mehr Castelino, Hemant Trevedi, Achla Sachdev, Riyaz Gangji, Karmik Varma, Carol Gracias, Surelee Joseph, Parvathy Omanakuttan, Marcellus Baptista, Aanchal Kumar, Shahab Durazi, Babita Malkani, Anita Dongre, Krishna Mehta and Masaba Gupta (an SNDT Alumni).
