Yup, Beti B is growing up fast! In a recent interview with a radio station in London, Jaya Bachchan revealed what her granddaughter looks like! She said, “Aaradhya looks like a bit of Aishwarya and a bit of Abhishek. She’s a tall girl.” (And yes, there’s more!)
Commenting on Ash’s maternal skills Jaya added, “Aishwarya is a hands on mom. She is sometimes overcautious. Baby Aaradhya is not intimidated by faces, she is beautiful! I call her “Strawberry” because when she was born she reminded me of a strawberry. She is always smiling! Now she’s trying to crawl and it’s very special to us. Sometimes I tease Aishwarya and I say well, Aaradhya is a very lucky girl because can you imagine having a nurse like Miss World?!”
She went on to reveal, “Aishwarya! I would also like her to start going out but she is absolutely, totally hands on and doesn’t depend on anybody, which I think is great.”
Interesting! I think we’re all guilty of assuming that iconic Bollywood families all adhere to some sort of old-school family management (cue Big B’s Parampara speech) where the mother-in-law calls all the shots. But I can imagine that Aish’s “house-arrest” is probably just a matter of personal choice. I also think “Strawberry” is quite a cute pet name and may come in hand for small talk when she runs into Apple (Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s little girl) on the red carpet! *lol*
Oh and the “Miss World nurse” commet was killer, I love it! Can you picture Junior B singing *Could you be, the most beautiful nurse in the world…* Jaya ji you’re quite the star, I’ll never forget your speech and watching you dance up a storm at the Moët & Chandon’s Celebration for Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla at China House. #Awesome 🙂

PS. My spy tells me that all the close friends and family who have seen the little girl say her eyes look like Ash’s while the complexion is very Abhishek. Oddly enough I got the exact opposite impression from a fan run-in a few weeks ago, but then again, I hear babies initially change a lot!
