Aug 5: Happy Birthday Genelia D’Souza: A Winner All The Way!

@Geneliad
On her birthday, we celebrate Genelia D’Souza who is one of the most lovable divas in B-town and has the most amazing million dollar smile. Although Genelia broke a million hearts when she announced the news of her eight year relationship with Riteish Deshmukh to the world followed by a grand wedding in February this year, we love her for sticking by her man and doing what she felt was right.
After her B-town debut in Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003 (she fell in love with Riteish during the making), she went on to rule the South Indian film industry with some criticially acclaimed performances in movies like Bomarillu (in Telugu) and Santosh Subramaniam (in Tamil) before her retun to Bollywood in 2007.
Her comeback flick, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na with hottie Imran Khan was a massive blockbuster but it didn’t really do much for Genelia as an actress. I didn’t really like her too much back then primarily because of her South Indian accent and her Hindi diction which was not very good and even annoying at times. But, over the last few years, Genelia has worked so hard on mastering her language skills, getting into the skin of the charatcer and getting every dialogue just right that she has managed to silence her worst critic.
The first time I met her was at the music launch of her newest flick, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya (another flick with her hubby), I was pleasantly surprised by how totally gorgeous she is. I quizzed her about how her evolution as an actress and how she’s had to work on her pronunciation and accent which is almost perfect now. I love how she told me that she owed it to her audience to constantly work towards acting better and looking her absolute best. She said that it was an actor’s responsibilty to bring something new to each character, evolve with each role and if she didn’t work harder on each new flick, she just wasn’t worth all the love and attention.
I really do think that she’s working very passionately on improving her expressions and her acting skills too as she was the highlight of the movie for me when I did finally see it. Every minute that she was onscreen she stole the show with her energy, her impressive Punjabi kudi act and her adorable nakhras. She also surprised everyone with a very mature and unique act in her other hit this year, Force. She has always been the darling of the ad world and it’s no surprise really as any adult or kid would melt when Genelia sells us something with that killer smile.
Here’s wishing that she enjoys this adorable new phase of marital bliss and gets back to work real soon too as we can’t wait to catch more of her on the big screen.
Team MissMalini wishes the gorgeous Genelia a happy birthday and a year full of love and blessed memories.

I’m not sure why but this blog is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.
