When we started seeing promos of Rani Mukerji in Aiyyaa, we couldn’t help but draw the Vidya Balan comparison – and by the time Dreamum Wakeuppam was out, we were having major The Dirty Picture déjà vu. The question is, though, who pulls off their South Indian item song best? Have a look at the videos and let us know!
Rani probably wins this round for me based solely on the fact that she’s got the crazier moves (and manages to pull them off). As a song, though, Ooh La La still wins for me. What do you think?

Rani for sure, just by the sheer fact that she can dance (which, I thought was a prerequisite for item songs), and that, too, brilliantly.
I’m rather excited for this movie – it’s been ages since we saw Rani in a non-bakwaas film. Plus, I love Prithviraj – such a talented actor.

I guess Rani seems so spontaneous and over the top but Vidya’s performance in TDP and Ooh La La was just so unexpected and such an eye opener. I could see Rani doing item songs, but never thought Vidya would have ever found the guts to do that – she has obviously proved me wrong.
