With India Resort Fashion Week (IRFW) 2012 being the launchpad of her brand, designer Nidhi Munim’s collection promises to enthrall with its simple yet chic pieces. From swimsuits to cover-ups, Nidhi has designed a collection with designs and prints rooted in Indian culture.
The collection – called BayDreams – is a youthful and a happy line that paints a woman’s body like a canvas. Nidhi’s collection can be divided into two sections – one that has used flashy neons with white in the colour pallete, and the other that has beautiful ikkat prints in neon yellow. The ikkat prints strongly speak about her interest and initiative to bring Indian craftsmanship into her designs.
For the entire collection, Nidhi has used pure Italian Lycra. As resort wear needs to be breathable, the fabric used is soft and comfortable to the skin.
In terms of her silhouettes, Nidhi has a wide range which include sexy one-shoulder to thin-strapped halter necks.
