Last night the Grand Hyatt lawns were transformed into Rohit Bal‘s urban mela with incredible installations, giant pinwheels, candy floss and what I can only describe as giant bird men on stilts! (Extremely cool, and the floating fashion, ever-so-slightly spooky at the same time.) I of course dressed in a Rocky S dress (yay!) whipped out my LPC and took as many clicks as I could, so here’s my night in pictures plus loads of celebrity spotting (the way you like it best, with a side of snark!)
Day 1 was the “premiere” of Shakun Batra and Karan Johar‘s 14 minute film Strangers in the Night starring Mohit Marwah, Karan Pandit, Saba Azad (Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, Dil Kabaddi) and Yolanda Mclellan. The movie itself was cheesy cute but very stylishly shot.
Of course Karan Johar’s golden boys Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra were there front and center and as KJo mentioned when I interviewed him, they’re just gagging to do another film, so hopefully it won’t be long now girls!
How do these three fare on the suit-meter I wonder? Remind me to ask our men’s fashion expert, Zina!
My favorite young Bollywood couple, Imran Khan & Avantika Malik were there too to support BFF Shakun Batra I’ve got the deets on their fashion choices coming up in another blog so stay tuned!
Er… I hate to be the one to tell you this Yolanda Mclellan (especially since this was your big premiere night) but your dress was totally sheer in the garden lights. Oops! (Unless of course that was by design in which case, well played.)
Of the two leading ladies for the night, who’s look do you like more, Saba or Yolanda?
And OMG, please watch out for Mohit Marwah – I mean mega hottie alert. He’s Arjun and Sonam Kapoor’s cousin FYI and a total babe magnet on screen.
I love Boman Irani, he’s hilarious and as I discovered last night such a lovely man! He also joked that he could never get away with carrying my little pink camera around which I thought was so sweet!
Of course Rohit Bal was there with his entourage of many boys and unlike that one time in Delhi he seemed fairly sober! 🙂
Tisca Chopra looked pretty in monochrome, but who’s your happy (and super shiny) friend?
This guy’s dreads were of course, uh-mazing.
And I can’t help it, but every time I see Sanjay Kapoor I wonder if perhaps he rues his brothers luck just a tiny little bit. I mean he could very well have been the one to say “who wants to be a millionaire?!” and his life would have been totally different! On another note, hello, who’s the cute boy with you? Another aspiring new Kapoor on the block I hope?!
Now there’s a good looking couple, Shruti Seth and Danish Aslam…
Btw, every time I see Arjun Kapoor, Chokra Jawan automatically starts playing on loop in my head! *lol* Remember KJo’s birthday bash? Maybe that’s why.
Also it was a Kunal Vardhan and Ritika Rawal‘s sangeet at the Hyatt last night (we saw 4 Rolls Royce’s pull up as we were leaving!) which is why Evelyn Sharma decided on this Shane and Falguni outfit that could work for both events.
FYI – Kunal is the son of prominent builder and owner of Worli’s Atria Mall Champalal Vardhan and Ritika’s father Neeraj Rawal, is a big name in the liquor distribution business, and a close friend of Vijay Mallya.
I’m guessing same reason, Maria Goretti? I think Arshad Warsi and her make such a cute couple don’t you?
And somehow seeing Leslie Lewis looking this happy always cracks me up 🙂 welcome back btw.
