After a model was sent down the catwalk at Alexandre Vauthier’s show at Paris Fashion Week, nudity on the runway seems to de rigeur.

Fashion icon Marc Jacobs also did his bit to keep skin (and breasts) in vogue at New York Fashion Week a few days ago by sending model Lily McMenamy, topless, onto the ramp with just her hands covering her modesty, at his Fall 2013 showing.

Lily – the eighteen-years-old daughter of model Kristen McMenany – wore a pair of high-waited belted shorts, fishnet gloves and black stilettos to cover the rest of her charms.

What do you think would happen if an Indian designer sent their models onto the runway, half-dressed?

    1. I dont understand why nudity has to set in at international deisgners showcases, agreeing to the part that fashion gives us creative liberty and freedom however there is a very thin line between vulgarity and being artistic, i think we as Indian designers look upto women as an epitome of beauty and obviously will not put their modesty at stake to make an impactful show, i think that needs to be reinforced globally in the fashion industry, this is disappointing.
