The team of Aashiqui 2 recently took a trip down memory lane, when they held their first look launch at Sudeep Studios in Khar, where Gulshan Kumar had recorded the music for the original Aashiqui film. It was quite the emotional moment as Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar claimed they missed Gulshan Kumar, with Mahesh Bhatt even remembering that time Gulshan Kumar came up to him and said, “let’s make a musical film.”
Says Mahesh Bhatt, “Aashiqui 2 is very much different from Aashiqui. That film was set in the 90s, this is in 2013. So as the generation has changed, the narrative of the film has also changed. Aashiqui 2 is thousand times superior. Better. It was difficult and challenging in its own way, but everyone has worked hard right from the actors to the director to the writer to the musicians.”
