Good news for Rani Mukerji fans: the actress, who was last seen in Talaash, has now signed up a new film! Director Pradeep Sarkar (of Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Parineeta fame) has picked Rani for his upcoming film titled Mardaani. Interestingly, this is a YRF production, so we’ve got to wonder if Rani’s rumoured beau Aditya Chopra had anything to do with the casting!
On his part, though, Sarkar t0ld Mumbai Mirror that he has a very comfortable equation with Rani, “things just fell into place,” and he was the one to tell Aditya that they should go ahead with her. In the film, Rani’ll be playing a cop, and word has it that this is one of the boldest subjects yet to be explored by YRF. The film will go on floors later this year and will be shot primarily in Mumbai, but as of yet, there’s not too much known about it.
