Fitoor was going to be the first time that we saw Sushant Singh Rajput and Katrina Kaif in a film opposite each other; however, there’s sad news for those of you who were excited for the fresh pairing. Sushant has had to opt out of the film, and therefore director Abhishek Kapoor will need to be replace him – even though he had earlier gone on record to say that Sushant and Katrina “best suit the characters involved in the movie.” Uh oh!
Apparently, Sushant had kept himself free for a certain portion of this year and alloted those dates to the Fitoor team. Unfortunately, the film’s original October 2013 kick off got pushed to March 2014, and then subsequently to July 2014. These new dates are clashing with the dates Sushant had already promised to Shekhar Kapur and the Paani team, and so the actor had no choice but the opt out of Fitoor.
The parting, though, is seemingly amicable and Sushant has expressed an interest in collaborating with Abhishek Kapoor some time in the future.
