Designers Trupti Bellad Hermans and Preeti McConkey hosted a wine and cheese soiree to officially launch their boutique, Trupsel, in Colaba in Mumbai last night.
The duo had all their celebrity friends attend the glamorous evening, wearing saree designs they had especially created for them.
Pria Kataria Puri, Queenie Singh, Parizad Kolah, Amrita Puri, Reshma Bombaywalla and Tara Sharma Saluja were just a few of the lovely ladies who wore ornate and colourful sarees by Trupti and Preeti.

Says the duo about their collection: “Our debut collection consists of paneled saris, lightly embellished lehengas, drape dresses, floor length anarkalis, occasion wear tunics and also a line of festive wear for girls and boys.
This being a festive collection for the upcoming party and new year season, we have created silhouettes in a palette of bright colours. These are further embellished using traditional embroidery techniques on chiffons, georgettes, crepes and nets.”
And what is the USP of the Trupsel label? “Well, you can say that our designs epitomize an international look with an Indian soul,” say the young designers.
