Jaaved Jaffrey
Jaaved Jaffrey

Two weeks ago, we asked you a question we never thought we would have to ask – Do Jaaved Jaaferi’s Breasts Look Authentic? And if you scrolled through that post, you would have known that this was his look for Mr. Joe B Carvalho, his upcoming film in which he plays seven different roles, one of them being the character of a traditional Maharashtrian woman.

Today, we were sent another, more glamorous image of Jaffrey in drag, wearing a blonde wig and a purple bling dress.

Of course, that sent us scurrying down memory lane to pick out five other stars in Bollywood who tickled our fancy by dabbling in drag for their on-screen persona.

See who our five favourites are:

AAMIR KHAN:

Back in 1995, Aamir Khan was the belle of the ball in Baazi, directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. In this film, he plays the role of a police inspector.

SALMAN KHAN:

In 2006, macho man Salman Khan donned a white halter neck dress and wore perky falsies in the film, Jaan-E-Mann. The film was directed by Shirish Kunder and also starred Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta.

GOVINDA:

In a comedy of errors, Govinda obliges a friend by pretending to dress up and be his aunt, only to have two men fall in love with him. Aunty No.1 – which released in 1998, saw Govinda togged out in elaborate traditional women’s wear. Unfortunately, the film was not as successful as its predecessors – Coolie No.1 and Hero No.1.

AMITABH BACHCHAN:

In Laawaris, a Prakash Mehra film from 1981, Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to women of all sizes, colours and shapes by dressing up as them in the song, Mere Angene Mein, Tumhara Kya Kaam Hai. Till today, the song is considered a hit and is very popular at weddings.

RITEISH DESHMUKH:

And finally, from the younger lot of stars, it’s the comic actor Riteish Deshmukh who dazzled us with his feminine charm in Apna Sapna Money Money in 2006. Don’t you think he looks the prettiest from the lot of them?
