Awards Season has kicked off into high gear and we are waiting to see what the ladies will wear to the granddaddy of all Award shows, the Filmfare Awards. (Here is what they wore to the Filmfare Nominations Bash, Screen Awards 2014 and Star Guild Awards 2014.) With Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra hosting the event, we are quite keen on seeing their camaraderie on stage. (Remb Barfi?) While so far we have been impressed with some stars, others have left us quite underwhelmed. I decided to put together my wish list of what the stars could wear from the Indian runway.
Deepika Padukone:
Deepika Padukone sticks to column gowns, sheath dress and sometimes, just sometimes goes for volume. I would like her to switch things up and wear this sublime Anamika Khanna ensemble from her couture collection. While Deepika usually sticks to Khanna’s anarkalis and saris, this time around I hope she chooses her fusion pieces. The royal purple would make her stand out while the mustard dhoti pants with a slit would show off those enviable gams.
Shraddha Kapoor:
Shraddha Kapoor likes to stick to girly, pastel shades. With a stunning face like hers and a banging body to match, I wish she pushed the boundaries a bit more. I think this shimmery Namrata Joshipura jumpsuit with a plunging neckline, would look amazing on her.
Sonam Kapoor:
We all know that if you put Sonam Kapoor into any mould, she is undoubtedly going to own it. Whether it is old Hollywood glamour, avant garde or plain desi girl. Pankaj & Nidhi are one of my favourite designers, and this yellow gown with the thigh-high slit would make her look so undeniably sexy.
Priyanka Chopra:
Priyanka Chopra is fierce when it comes to her fashion choices, and being the host of the Filmfare Awards we’re hoping she brings her A-game. (I’m sure her stylist Ami Patel will see to that) Amit Aggarwal is currently the fashion industry’s darling and this sculptural gown is perfect for making heads turn.
