Here’s what I know about all fashionistas. You love shopping (I know MissMalini loves her Myntra hauls). You track trends like a hawk. And when you’ve worn a look enough, you find interesting ways to reinvent it. Here’s a quick and easy Do-It-Yourself trick to bring new life to your favourite dress.
I found this cute dress (and I found you two similar colour blocked maxis here and here) and decided to give it something extra. Here’s what you need.
1. Cute buttons in fun colours and in different styles and sizes. Keep a few thread rolls in similar colours and a needle to sew the buttons.
2. You obviously need that dress you wanna reinvent.
The process? Well, it’s really left up to you. Figure out where you wanna place the buttons and envision the design element you want to achieve. I liked the idea to scatter the buttons over the top half of the garment, just like a pack of Gems or M&Ms. Sew the buttons on to the dress and you’re done! It’s that simple.
I found another dress from Myntra’s DressBerry line and it’s perfect for a similar DIY. And this time, try silver or brass buttons in different sizes. Your local tailoring supply shops can help you with truckloads of buttons to choose from.
