Salman Khan has (in my opinion) the most colourful and interesting love life in Bollywood! His personal equations with his female co-stars, Bigg Boss contestants and ladies from foreign countries (who try to make it big in Bollywood) are legendary. Also, his penchant for casting lookalikes of his girlfriends in his movies once his relationship is over really intrigues me. So that is why I’ve ranked the 6 ladies Salman has had a ‘special connection‘ with – this list doesn’t include random link-ups, it only includes ladies who have been somewhat important to Bhai. Please note that this list is a work of my imagination and by no way does it mean that you should agree with me!
6) Claudia Ciesla
This German-Polish beauty was a part of Bigg Boss season 3 and that’s where rumours of her and Salman’s closeness started doing the rounds. She’s gorgeous but because the relationship was a ‘rumour‘, she is placed this low. Even if it were true, it didn’t really last that long. For these reasons Claudia is ranked at number 6. 5) Iulia Vantur
You already know that Salman introduced Iulia as his girlfriend to the guests at Arpita Khan‘s wedding, so there’s that. She’s really pretty (of course she’ll be pretty, she caught Salman’s attention!) but she’s rather new and we don’t know much about her so Iulia is just above Claudia. But now that she’s done an item number too, you should check out her song as well.
4) Katrina Kaif
Katrina is gorgeous and Salman Khan helped her kickstart her Bollywood career, so there’s that. He did help many people kickstart their careers, but Katrina’s really took off, so credit to her. Apart from that, though, I really thought they made for a rather blah couple. I mean, if a fight between Shah Rukh Khan and Salman is the highlight of their relationship, then it’s probably a good thing that they’re not still together.
3) Somy Ali
Remember Somy Ali? The pretty lady made her debut in the 1993 movie Bulund, but was actually more famous for dating Salman Khan for quite a while. The rumours of their explosive relationship was tabloid fodder for a long, long time! Now Somy is happily running her own clothing line, So-Me Designs, apart from running a non-profit organisation, No More Tears, so huge props to her.
2) Sangeeta Bijlani
This is the woman who nearly got Salman to commit! Sangeeta Bijlani is the only lady to hold that distinction, as Salman revealed on Koffee With Karan. It got to a point where their wedding cards were printed too. It sadly ended because Salman broke her heart, but all’s well that ends well because now they’re really good friends. Somethings aren’t meant to be, I suppose.
1) Aishwarya Rai
She’s Aishwarya Rai, she tops every list! No one can deny that their chemistry was electric and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam will go down in history mostly because of them. Ash and Salman looked like Bollywood royalty, but this relationship ended on a rather sour note. Obviously, both of them have moved on and are happy in their respective relationships, but hands down, Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan were a golden couple – pure gold, just like her Roberto Cavalli dress!
