MSG:The Messenger

We all know how MSG: The Messenger ran into trouble with the Censor Board for its controversial content. We don’t even know the box office figures for this film, because no official figures have been released – even though it seems the producers have bulk-booked cinemas! The figures are beside the point, though, because if you ask me, the only good things that came out of this movie are the laugh-worthy reviews from the critics. Here’s a list of them just for you; we bet you’ll find yourself LOLing at all of them!

A whopping 197 minutes long, this is a poorly assembled, terrifically tacky and tremendously ill-conceived showcase for a self-styled spiritual leader – self-styled because no costume designer in the world could match up to this man. – Raja Sen, rediff.com

It’s the Pitaji of ‘so bad it’s good’, with crackpot writing, direction and acting. – firstpost.in

The only way for any intelligent, self-respecting individual to engage with this movie, if they absolutely must, is to be viewer #2 i.e. get high and watch the movie with friends to make fun of it… Or, you know, don’t watch the damn thing and continue to be an intelligent person who makes good choices. – Suprateek Chatterjee, Huffingtonpost.in

There’s a lot to be said about a spiritual leader who takes to filmy “hero-giri” with such sincere gusto. Even Rajinikanth can’t equal this Guruji’s reformist fervour. – ibnlive.in
