The Oscars are over and I think Neil Patrick Harris did an alright job. But now that we’re on this topic and there are still one or two award ceremonies left here in India, I thought I should make a list of a few Indian celebrities who’d make GREAT hosts at an awards show! Most of my choices are Bollywood celebrities but you will be surprised with a few names down there.
1) Ranveer Singh
Livewire in human form, is there anything Ranveer Singh can’t do?
2) Nargis Fakhri
I’ve said this before, Nargis Fakhri is hilarious, and if she gets to host a no-holds-barred monologue in the beginning, it will brilliant!
3) The Kapoor brothers
Do you remember the first season of Koffee With Karan? I know I do, and do you know which episode was my favourite (except Shah Rukh Khan‘s, of course)? It was the one where Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv Kapoor were guests. It was the one episode I laughed so hard, my mum thought I was having an attack! And that is exactly why we should keep the bubbly flowing for the three brothers and ask them to host an awards show.
4) Farhan Akhtar
Witty, sarcastic, handsome, multi-talented and the king of my heart, Farhan Akhtar HAS to host an awards show where he can speak his mind.
5) Anu Menon
She’s Lola Kutty bro. Of course she’ll be fabulous!
6) Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone can be really funny if she’s comfortable; that’s why one should make her feel at ease with the people around her and not make the poor girl go through this:
7) Lalu Prasad Yadav
Lalu is a star. Just imagine if this guy gets the mike and a super-rich audience. Just imagine that same audience laughing their butts off at things they never thought they’d hear. Ever.
8) Vir Das
If India’s most popular stand-up comedian won’t be able to make an awards show interesting then I really don’t know what will.
9) AIB
The last time AIB did something with celebrities, people have still not gotten over it..what will happen if they get an awards show to host?
