It’s that time of the year! Everyone’s going to be seen with their water baloons, colours, balams and pichkaries. Most of our B-town stars also plan to celebrate this fun festival with much zest and fervour. But no grand party can match up to the greatness of our childhood Holi days. So we got three of our Bollywood heroines to share their childhood memories of celebrating Holi.

Deepika Padukone

Holi has been one of my favorite festivals since childhood. I used to play Holi after coming back from school with my friends in the building. I miss those days!

My fondest memory is that of my father filling balloons with water early in the morning. We’d go to the terrace and throw balloons at each other. After that, we’d beging our adult Holi. Adult Holi meant dancing in the building compound with some rang and mild bhaang. Even our watchman would help us while filling the buckets of water from the tanks. Those are always going to be my evergreen memories!

I used to celebrate Holi every year with my sister Nupur and all our friends in our colony’s central park. Once we found a broken bathtub on a terrace and filled it up with color, water and mud and then each person was thrown in it, turn by turn. We ate pakodas and had thandai and grooved to various Holi songs!
