Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone

King of my heart Ranveer Singh recently opened up on Deepika Padukone and how different they are when it comes to conducting themselves in public. In a freewheeling chat with Filmfare, Ranveer mentioned Bajirao Mastani, the AIB Roast and of course, Dil Dhadakne Do. But what caught my interest the most was his adorable explanation regarding his ‘bad behaviour‘.

Basically, I’m a badmaash and mastikhor (naughty) and badly behaved too while she is not. That’s the long and the short of it. I am an expressive person and she is not. I’m comfortable behaving in a certain way in public. I’m impulsive. I follow my instincts in a particular situation. Baad mein mujhe Deepika se sunna padta hai!

The last line killed me, spoken like a true boyfriend Ranveer! He also spoke at length about marriage and monogamy.

I’m going to turn 30 in July. I’ve begun to mull over things. Earlier, I had a different take on relationships, marriage and family. But I have matured. Earlier I was uneasy at the rate at which divorces were happening amongst professionals, too many people vying for the same things… believed it was kalyug. I believed people were happier being single and that marriage was redundant. But in the past three years some experiences have changed my outlook. Today, I believe in monogamy, I believe in marriage. I believe that the best thing one can be is an honourable family man. Also I read something which left an impact on me, “Success is measured as the beneficial footprint that you leave on society… It’s not about how much money you have… but how many lives you can touch.” Till about three years ago I didn’t want to grow up. I would not even behave my age. I found it easier to be an idiot. Now I think deep, I don’t resist the predisposition towards intimacy; I don’t resist the predisposition to lateral thought, conflict and argument. I’ve become interested in world news, world issues. Earlier, I was carefree, reckless and silly. I didn’t care at all. Now I do.
