A descendant of the Peshwa family wrote a scathing open letter to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his depiction of Kashibai and Mastani in the song Pinga from Bajirao Mastani. At a recent event, Deepika Padukone was asked what she thinks of this. The actress gave a very non-committal reply over the controversy, she said – “Yes, I read some stories about it today. But I have no idea what it’s all about.” When asked about her opinion on this topic, she said – “I think the best person to talk about this would be Sanjay Leela Bhansali I guess, I would rather let him clear it.”
