Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Khal Nayak’, directed by Subhash Ghai, was the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of 1993. The crime drama had some truly blockbuster songs, including ‘Palki Mein Hoke Sawar’, ‘Nayak Nahi Khal Nayak’, and ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’. Recently, Subhash Ghai revealed an interesting fact about the film and shared that many actors, including the talented Anil Kapoor, were interested in playing Sanjay Dutt’s role. Here’s what Subhash Ghai had to say…
“When news broke out in the market that I am making ‘Khal Nayak’, many heroes approached me as they wanted to be a part of the film. Anil Kapoor came and expressed his interest in doing the film. He even got ready to be bald, but I (was looking for something else). Sanjay Dutt was the right fit,” Subhash Ghai shared in an interview with ANI.
‘Khal Nayak’ also starred Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff, along with Sanjay Dutt. The plot of the Hindi-language action film revolves around the characters of a gangster (played by Sanjay Dutt) and his cop girlfriend (played by Madhuri Dixit). I must say Sanjay Dutt did full justice to his role in the film and exceptionally portrayed the character of ‘Balaram “Ballu” Prasad’. Released on August 6, 1993, ‘Khal Nayak’ is highly praised for its soundtrack, screenplay, and performances.
