There’s been so much hoopla over the male lead casting for 2 States. First, Shah Rukh Khan was supposed to do the film (back when it was supposed to be co-produced by Vishal Bhardwaj). Then, when that didn’t work out, Imran Khan was said to be signed on – except, even he backed out due to alleged date issues. Finally, though, everything seems to be alright – Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala have confirmed that Arjun Kapoor will be their main guy.

Here’s what Karan told the TOI:

Karan Johar says: “Arjun is wonderful and a supremely talented addition to the young bracket of actors in the movie industry. Both Sajid and I have implicit faith in his portrayal of our protagonist.”

This is a pretty big deal for Arjun, so no doubt he’s gotta be happy – he’ll be produced by two big banners after only one film; some young ones can only dream of it. We thought he was great in Ishaqzaade, so we’re pinning high hopes on him for 2 States. Here’s wishing him all the best!
