Rani Mukerji gets married

Yup! This is what the short media blast I got from YRF today announced. “Mr. Aditya Chopra and Ms. Rani Mukerji got married on 21st April.” In true Yash Raj anti-climax style the VP of Marketing & Communications – Rafiq Gangjee just dropped the bomb saying,” We are happy to announce that Mr. Aditya Chopra and Ms. Rani Mukerji got married last night on 21st April in Italy. The wedding was a very small intimate affair with very close family and friends. We wish the couple a very happy married life.”

Oh man! Raise your hand if you saw THAT coming? I think we ALL called it way before Rani was playing hostess/bahu extraordinaire at the Jab Tak Hain Jaan premiere and Aditya was showering her with lavish Rs.1.24 crores gifts AND they were celebrating Diwali together! Well I guess the queen finally landed her kingdom and we’re going to be seeing a LOT more of her in the press now that it’s all official! Especially since her next solo YRF project Madaani is slated for release in August 2014 with a specially requested character re-write by the new Mrs. YRF.

And just as she had at the Diva’ni launch Rani expressed her happiness and how much she missed Yash Uncle at this special time, “I would like to share the happiest day of my life with all my fans all over the world whose love and blessings have been part of my journey all these years. I know that all my well-wishers who have waited for this day will be really happy for me. It was a beautiful wedding in the Italian countryside with just a few of our close family and friends with us. The one person I missed terribly was Yash Uncle, but I know he was there with us in spirit and his love and blessings will always be with Adi and me. I have always believed in fairy-tales and with God’s grace my life has been exactly like one, and now as I enter the most important chapter of my life – the fairy-tale continues.”

Good for you Rani! We love fairy-tales too and we’re glad you got yours 🙂 We wish you oodles of love, light, laughter, and a Big Fat Bollywood Happily Ever After! xoxo
