You guys I got to watch Khoobsurat last night (because I’m a nice person) and let’s just say we’ve finally learnt how to make the perfect rom-com! It had everything a cute romantic Disney movie should have! So basically my point is, book your tickets as soon as possible, because Khoobsurat is a must watch!

1) The Mother-Daughter relationship

Manju and Milli should have their own spin-off movies, because these two were epic! Kirron Kher, as always, bowled us over with her performance (she had the BEST lines in the movie) and Sonam Kapoor gave ample support with her hilarious conversations with her ma on Skype!

2) The songs

Sneha Khanwalkar is a star. We knew that from Gangs of Wasseypur, but seriously, her music is so fresh. Especially her song ‘Ma Ka Phone‘ which plays at the exact right moments throughout the movie. ‘Naina‘, composed by Amal Malik and performed by Sona Mohapatra and Armaan Malik, deserves a special mention too.

3) The casting

Khoobsurat is one of those few movies where it feels like there is no difference between the character and the actor playing it. Take Ratna Pathak Shah for example, she took Rani-Sa to such a level that we really thought she is a queen! Same with Sonam Kapoor… she played Milli effortlessly.

4) The length of the movie

Not once did Khoobsurat feel like a stretch. It was a breezy, happy movie and not for one moment did we feel like the movie should have ended already! Maybe because of Fawad Khan’s presence, I think the movie could have been longer… with just him..without a shirt.

5) My sun and stars

Khaleesi called Drogo that while I call Fawad that. On the verge of sounding like Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction, I really think Fawad Khan was the breakout performer in this movie. He looks princely, acts princely, his face is princely, his beard is princely, and his biceps are totally king material. All hail Fawad Khan!

As I said, watch Khoobsurat and make your weekend happy!
