Rakhi Sawant is now courting an arrest warrant issued against her for failing to appear in Ludhiana Court today. The actress was required to appear in the court because a case of hurting communal sentiments was filed against her. According to Mid-Day, her lawyers moved an application to seek extension of the bail plea they had filed as Rakhi would be unable to appear in court because she’s in the US right now.
The sessions judge granted the anticipatory bail if she’d turned up on August 7th at court, but Rakhi didn’t, which lead to an arrest warrant being issued against her.
Her problems began when a lawyer filed a complaint against her last year, saying that some comments she made on a television channel had hurt the sentiments of the Valmiki community. Rakhi had given an unconditional apology after learning about this, but the case was still filed.
