The trailer of Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju released today and boy that was a mother-effin’ amazing trailer. Every character in the film portrayed by the stellar cast stood out in the 3 minutes long trailer. With every emotion portrayed to perfection, we can only imagine the impact the film will have on us.
The cast was present at the trailer launch of the film and one question asked to the filmmaker was about Anushka Sharma’s character. The actress’ look was launched yesterday and while we knew what characters most of the cast was playing in this Sanjay Dutt biopic, we wondered who Anushka’s role was inspired by.
Rajkumar finally revealed that Anushka’s character is a combination of screenwriter Abhijat Joshi and Raju himself.
Hirani said,
Anushka is basically playing Abhijat and me in the movie. She plays a biographer from London in the movie. Sanju narrates his story to her and tries to convince her to write a book on him. But the twist is that she does not want to write it! In real life, Abhijat and I were also in two minds while Sanju was narrating us his story. The only difference between real and reel life is that she is playing a biographer, not a filmmaker.
We are glad that they finally decided to make a film on it because that trailer is the best thing we’ve seen today!
