It is raining biopics in Bollywood. Right from Mary Kom, Sarbjit to Milkha Singh and the very recent Sanjay Dutt‘s tale, we’ve seen different real-life tales told on the celluloid. While Sanju is still earning great moolah at the box office, a recent report in Midday suggests that now a biopic will be made on yesterday actress Madhubala. Madhubala’s sister Madhur Bhushan revealed to the tabloid that the film is in process.
While the director is yet to be chosen, Madhur said,
I’ll be on board as a consultant. We will start rolling next year.
While biopics today do not stay true to the story of the person it is based on, Madhur asserted that the film based on the life of the Mughal-E-Azam actress will showcase her personal life as well.
I will disclose everything about my sister’s life. Her relationship with Dilip Kumar and marriage with Kishore Kumar will also be included. We want to do it in such a manner that it doesn’t offend anyone.
While permissions for the same will be taken from the people included in the biopic, the actress to essay the titular role is yet to be chosen.
The director will be the best judge of that.
Apart from the biopic on the celluloid, Madhur will also be penning a biography which will release during the same time.
Last year, a wax statue of Madhubala was unveiled at Madame Tussauds, Delhi.
Talking about who could play the role of the yesterday actress, Madhur had said,
There was a time when I wanted Madhuri Dixit to play the role of Madhubala in her biopic but now it has to be Kareena Kapoor Khan as she has the same naughtiness that Madhubala used to have and she is a beautiful actor too.
Wow, we can’t wait to witness this one already!
