For a while now reports about the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy have been making rounds. The Telugu flick starring Vijay Devrakonda and Shalini Pandey was a huge hit directed by Sandeep Vanga and fans were waiting to see who will step into Vijay’s shoes in Bollywood. The makers of the film had announced that Shahid Kapoor will be playing the lead role while the search for leading lady was still on.
Now, it seems like the wait has ended. Kiara Advani was the first to be considered when the director Sandeep Vanga initially started scouting for his heroine. Kiara and Sandeep had even met and discussed the possibility. But later, due to date issues (the film was supposed to go on floors in August earlier); the talks took a bit of a backseat. Now that the film is going on floors in early October, things fell back in place. Early this week, Kiara was signed for the film and the actress has even started her creative meetings with the filmmaker.
Kiara who is excited to be a part of the project believes that the film will be a game changer for her. The actress said,
Arjun Reddy has always been one of my favourite films. There are so many shades to the heroine’s character; I’m very excited about it
Talking about Kiara stepping in to play Preethi’s role, Sandeep said,
Kiara epitomizes the female character in the film to the T. She has the perfect combination of innocence (in terms of looks) and maturity (in terms of performance) that’s so important for the character.
Now that Sandeep has found his Arjun and Preethi, we cannot wait to witness this marvel on the 70mm.
