It was just yesterday that we came across a leaked video of Sonu Sood from the film, Manikarnika. In case you don’t know, the actor was supposed to portray the role of Sadashiv Bhalerao. However, due to creative differences, he later walked out of the film. You can read about it here. He was then replaced by Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub. But now, we’ve found out that Gulshan Devaiah was also approached for the same role.

When Gulshan was offered the film, he had already said yes to director Vasan Bala’s Mard Ko Dard Hota Hai. He did so despite the doctors advising him to rest for a year to recover from knee surgery. In the film, Gulshan will be essaying the role of Karate Mani, a karate expert. The actor loved the part and just couldn’t say no to the director. Owing to the time restrictions, and the shoot of MKDNH, he had to turn down the film.

He said:

Manikarnika was offered to me and the filmmakers really wanted me to do the role. For me, it was a physically demanding role. The real reason why I turned down Manikarnika is more than one reason. I really prefer doing one project at a time as I feel that I am able to give my 100% to that project, no matter how big or small it is. This is my preferred method but I am not able to do it all the time. I had already agreed to be part of Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. Plus, it was just too much during the time, I was already suffering from all the physical activities required from physiotherapy and martial arts training and I couldn’t possibly squeeze in horse riding and sword fighting.

We hope Gulshan has a speedy recovery and wish him luck for his film, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota which also marks the debut of Abhimanyu Dasani.
