The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the rest of India celebrated a landmark moment on Monday as their second lunar exploration mission – Chandrayaan 2 – took off successfully. While it is in itself a remarkable feat to develop a completely homegrown lunar mission, what’s also remarkable is that the mission was headed and directed by two women – namely, Muthyya Vanitha and Ritu Karidhal. This is also the first time a project in ISRO is being directed by a woman. Now, that’s an achievement alright! Celebrities from all over took to their social media and congratulated ISRO for their wonderful feat. From Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, to R. Madhavan, everyone was all praises.
