Donkey milk, snail mucin and bee venom may not sound like skincare ingredients but when it comes to K-beauty they are the superstars in their skincare products. Over the past few years, K-beauty trend has shaken up the beauty industry and it’s here to stay. Initially, whenever someone mentioned Korean skincare products, all I could think about was sheet masks. However, over the past few years I’ve realised that there is a whole world of fascinating Korean skincare products out there. After a lot of trial and error, I can safely say that these 7 game-changing K-beauty products are my faves and you should definitely try them out:
1. Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask
After endlessly scrolling through Glow Recipe‘s website and Instagram account, I am convinced that I need this product in my life. What makes this eye sleeping mask so special is that it contains encapsulated retinol. Since the retinol is in an encapsulated form, it is much more gentle on your skin. This K-beauty product is formulated with nourishing ingredients like avocado, niacinamide and coffeeberry. So using this product will make the skin under your eyes look fresh, hydrated and bright.
2. Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish
This exfoliating scrub is not like the others since it gently exfoliates your skin while simultaneously moisturising it. It’s formulated with fine particles of black sugar, shea butter and cranberry oil. So when you’re scrubbing your face with this K-beauty product, you’re not only getting rid of dead skin cells but you’re also adding moisture to it. If you’re a person with dry skin and you’re looking for a gentle exfoliator then this one is made for you!

3. Laneige Lavender Water Sleeping Mask
This K-beauty product is one of my desert island beauty products. Apologies for sounding dramatic, but I’ve literally ditched sheet masks ever since I’ve started using this water sleeping mask. I apply just a little bit onto my skin before going to sleep and I wake up to soft and supple skin. Plus the soothing smell of lavender is just another benefit of this lovely product.

4. The Face Shop Dr.Belmeur Clarifying Spot Patch Kit
Want a solid overnight solution to those pesky pimples? Try one of these clarifying spot treatments. They contain two types of patches, one of them contains salicylic acid and willowherb to soothe inflamed skin and the other a hydrogel type that protects wounds. I’ve personally tried these patches and I have to say that they are super handy when you need a quick fix for zits and pimples.
5. TONYMOLY The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Skin
If you’re someone with an oily skin type then you should try this toner. This K-beauty product is formulated with green tea and tones your skin so that it looks bright and rejuvenated. Adding this extra step to your skincare routine is definitely worth it because it helps balance your skin’s pH level and helps your skin absorb all your other skincare products better.
6. Dr Jart Hydration Lover Rubber Mask
You’ll forget about sheet masks when you try out this wacky yet effective rubber mask. What makes this mask so special is that since it’s formulated with rubber it doesn’t let the active ingredients evaporate. What I love about this K-beauty product is that it comes in two halves, one for the upper part of your face and the second for the lower half of your face. So unlike a sheet mask, this mask stays on your face without sliding off.

Does your skin need a surge of moisture? If you have dry skin then you should look into products with the miracle ingredient—Hyaluronic Acid (HA). This serum, in particular, is a game-changer since it’s star ingredient is HA and it’s suitable for all skin types.
