Ever since the first look of Saand Ki Aankh released, we were super excited to dive into the world of sharpshooter dadis — Chandro and Prakashi Tomar — from the Johri village in Uttar Pradesh. Powerhouse performers, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar essay the role of Chandro and Prakashi and look great as aged, yet sharp women. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, this biographic film portrays the lives and struggles of the champion shooters who came out of the four walls of their house to lead their daughters into a path they couldn’t take on earlier in their lives. Given their own passion for shooting, they discover their hidden strengths as exceptional shooters. With some really sassy ‘gun-in-the-mouth’ situations — where the ladies shut the men around them with a gun — they also reclaim their position in society and bring name and fame to their tiny village with the same gun.
