Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar‘s transformation into 60-something year-olds for the film, Saand Ki Aankh, has piqued everyone’s curiosity. The film is a biography on two elderly sharpshooters from Uttar Pradesh – Chandro and Prakashi Tomar. The 30-something-year-olds sat through hours of make-up and prosthetics, mastered the mannerisms of elderly women as well as adapt to the accents of the region. All that sure is super hard work, and kudos to the girls for pulling it off.
But, followers on Twitter did have their own opinions on the casting for the film. One person pointed out that they would have liked to see older actors like Neena Gupta, Shabana Azmi or Jaya Bachchan be cast for the role. And, guess who replied to that? Our fav, Neena Ji.
She replied saying:
Yes, I was just thinking about this. Hamari umar ke role toh kamsekum humse kara lo bhai (At least cast us in the role that suit our age).
On the work front, we’ll be seeing Neena Ji in the film, Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhaan opposite her Badhai Ho co-stars — Gajraj Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana. Saand Ki Aankh is releasing this Diwali and we can’t wait to see it.
