Siddhant Chaturvedi is riding high on the success of Gully Boy. The Zoya Akhtar directorial released at the start of the year and while Murad played by Ranveer Singh was outstanding, Siddhant’s portrayal of MC Sher surely got edged in our mind. Such was the character Chaturvedi portrayed. In an exclusive conversation with us, Siddhant spoke about his next outing at the films and how excited he is about it. Apart from starring in Bunty Aur Babli 2, Siddhant will share screen space with Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday in Shakun Batra‘s next. Talking about it, Sidhhant said that he is super excited about this project.
Talking about the film which deals with the dark side of relationships, Chaturvedi revealed,
Yes, the film is about the darker side of relationships. In Bollywood terms, I would call it a romantic thriller but in two terms I would call it is domestic noir. It is very different and it is romantic. I am excited to work with Shakun and romance Deepika and Ananya.
He also spoke about the action film with Excel which is on cards.
After this, there is an action film which was supposed to happen first but then Bunty Aur Babli 2 happened. The action film is my passion project. I have been trained in Taekwondo, martial arts, 5 saal jab kuch nahin tha, yehi kar raha tha. Train hi kar raha tha khudko. I wanted to do action on-screen. I remember when I was training, Tiger (Shroff) was just going to be launched, and he was training too and would jump and go higher than me. While he would come with an entourage, mere saath mere Juhu beach wale pantar the. He would come with mates and I would train on the ground. I was thinking back then ki mere pehle ye action leke aayega movies mein. So all that you’ll see in the action film. It is sleek and stylized. This has been a passion project for a long time. We planned it 3-4 months after we wrapped Gully Boy but then Bunty Aur Babli 2 had to done at the right time because next year is YRF’s 50th anniversary.
He confirmed that the horror-comedy with Katrina Kaif is also happening!
Apart from that, there is a horror-comedy with Katrina Kaif that will happen by the end of the year.
Seems like Siddhant is going to have a great 2020 and we are looking forward to it!
