It is not an unknown fact that actor Irrfan Khan has been going through a tough period with regards to his health condition for quite some time now. While he and his family have officially addressed the matter, they have been very protective of their privacy in these difficult times, and rightly so. But recently, he spoke to Mumbai Mirror about his battle with cancer and how his wife has been a huge support throughout this period.

Speaking about his journey, he termed it a roller-coaster ride with a little crying and a lot of laughing and says that it feels like you are constantly playing hopscotch with yourself. Talking about his family, and the role his wife, Sutapa Sikdar played in helping him through this journey, he says that she has been such a great care-giver and that if he were to live, he will want to live only for her. That’s so sweet, no?

It’s trying moments like these that bring the whole family together. He even spoke about how in this period, he spent quality time with his sons and had the opportunity to see them evolve. Well, it takes a lot to see the silver lining around a dark cloud, and we are glad Irrfan’s family is proving to be that silver lining for him.

Irrfan married his wife Sutapa in 1995, and have two sons, Babil and Ayan. Opening up about her husband’s struggle with the disease, Sutapa took to Facebook last year to thank everyone for their prayers.

Irrfan recently recorded a voice message for all his fans, right before the release of the trailer of his film, Angrezi Medium. It was such a heartwarming message, we cannot wait to see him in the film soon and wish him all the light for a speedy recovery.
