As much as I would love to go out and treat myself to a spa day with my friends, it’s my (and your) responsibility to stay indoors during these trying times. Covid-19 has taken over almost all of the world, and it’s time we start taking it seriously. Self-isolation and being educated with the correct information is what will help us beat this pandemic. So that’s why instead of going out to your favourite salon for a spa day, you can have one at your own house with the help of these simple seven steps:
1. Facial Steam
Any salon facial starts with a steam session. Estheticians do this because it unclogs your pores and makes your skin more receptive to any other products you use. So grab a facial steamer or a bowl of hot water and steam your face. This should be the first step of your at-home spa day.

2. Exfoliating Scrub
Exfoliation is majorly responsible for that post-spa day glow! So after you’ve steamed and cleansed your face, whip us a DIY gentle exfoliation scrub with honey and oats. You can find the recipe for this scrub over here. This scrub will help your exfoliate, moisturise and nourish your skin simultaneously.

3. Dry Brushing
Don’t neglect the rest of your skin! Exfoliate the rest of the skin with a dry brush. If you are not familiar with dry brushing, then let me explain—it involves brushing your skin upwards with a brush with rough natural brustles. This exfoliates your skin and stimulates your lymphatic system.

4. Mud Mask
After you’re done exfoliating your skin, use a mud mask to detoxify your skin. A mud mask will help you draw out all the impurities from your pores, hence, giving your skin a detox. If you use a mud mask if, with ingredients like Moroccan lava clay, it will help simultaneously tighten and brighten your skin.

5. Hydrating Serum
After you’ve washed off your mask, follow it up with a serum to replenish the hydration. Preferably use a serum with ingredients like hyaluronic acid. This will keep your skin hydrated for a prolonged time.

6. Moisturiser
After you’re done with the first five steps, it’s not time to lock in the hydration with a moisturiser. Whether your skin is dry or oily, make sure you use a moisturiser, just use one that suits your skin type.

7. Sunscreen
My dermatologist once told me, “Rain or shine, you have to wear SPF“. Even if you’re planning to stay indoors the whole day, wearing sunscreen is a must! Wearing SPF every day will keep your skin protected and slow down the ageing process of your skin.
